Svasti is an urban microfinance operation started in October 2008 to cater to the financial needs of the low income segment of society.

  • Svasti started its operations by providing loans to Women Joint Liability Groups in Mumbai. It currently offers customised loan products, payment services and insurance products. It aims to become a comprehensive financial service provider to the people in the target segment.
  • Svasti started by servicing customers through its branch in Andheri East, Mumbai with 6 employees in October 2008 and has subsequently expanded its reach to multiple cities. See outreach for the latest update on Svasti’s current branches, portfolio and people.
  • Svasti specialises in developing a deep quantitative and qualitative understanding of each and every household with whom it works through its day to day interactions with its customers and through innovative use of process and technology. Svasti uses this understanding to develop and deliver customised products and services to its customers and their households.
  • Svasti provides Joint Liability Loans (“JLG Loans”) of amounts ranging from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 50,000 at reasonable interest rates with minimal documentation, no security, small and conveniently repayable instalments, all available to customers at their doorstep.
  • Svasti also provides Business Loans Against Property (“LAP Loans”) of amounts ranging from Rs. 1 lac to Rs. 20 lacs for business/ productive purposes.
  • Svasti provides payment services to its loan customers whereby our loan customers can avail of short term credit facilities for payment of utility bills, pre-paid mobile top ups and DTH bill payments, through an innovative technology driven platform accessible to customers through phone calls as well as through a downloadable smart phone app.
  • Svasti was started in August, 2008 as Svasti Foundation and later transitioned to a NBFC-MFI, Svasti Microfinance Private Limited in October, 2010.
  • Svasti’s loan products and services are fully compliant with the RBI guidelines. It periodically reviews its policies to align with those of RBI and the Industry best practice.
  • Svasti’s loan offerings to its customers, both JLG Loans and well as LAP Loans, are provided either directly through Svasti’s own books or by Svasti acting as agent or business correspondent of a reputed and duly licensed bank/ non-banking finance company. In both approaches, Svasti takes full responsibility for the customer relationship management, both origination and collections, and Svasti follows the highest standards of customer service. Accordingly, our gross loan portfolio includes our own balance sheet portfolio as well as managed portfolio.
  • Svasti endorses The Smart Campaign, the global effort to keep our clients first in microfinance.
