Michael and Susan Dell Foundation

  • Michael and Susan Dell established the foundation in 1999. The gift was inspired by their passion for supporting children’s causes as a wayto make an even greater difference in a measurable way, particularly for those children living in urban poverty. Based in Austin, TX, the foundation initially focused on improving education and children’s health in Central Texas; but our mission soon expanded to reach children globally. To date, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has committed more than $650 million to assist nonprofit organizations working in major urban communities in the United States, South Africa and India. MSDF’s vision is to focus on opportunities with the greatest potential to directly and measurably transform the lives of children living in urban poverty.
  • MSDF helped incubate Svasti and has provided financial support to Svasti at various stages.

 

Bamboo Finance

  • Bamboo Finance is a commercial investment firm managing 250M USD representing a unique portfolio of direct investments around the world with offices in Luxembourg, Geneva, Bogota, San Francisco,and Singapore. Bamboo specializes in the financing of entrepreneurship globally.
  • Bamboo Finance uses a market-oriented approach to deliver social value environmental value and financial returns to investors.
  • Bamboo Finance invested in Svasti in April 2011 through the Bamboo Financial Inclusion Fund. The Bamboo Financial Inclusion Fund launched in 2007 and represents 195M USD in total commitments from institutional and individual investors. The fund invests in a range of microfinance institutions and funds worldwide. The Fund acquires minority stakes in their capital while playing an active governance role by sharing international experience, information, networks, knowledge and by taking an active role at a board level.

 

 

Kotak Mahindra Bank Group

  • The Kotak Mahindra Bank Group, a large banking group in India, has provided financial support, as part of its CSR initiative, to Svasti from its inception
  • In addition to the financial support the company has also extended the services of its Life Insurance company to provide life cover for Svasti’s members during the loan period

Angel Investors

  • Svasti also has amongst its investors a group of individual high net-worth investors with experience in a variety of fields including a few members of the Mumbai Angels , India’s leading group of angel investors
